¡Viven Los Lobos!
So just when you thought Los Lobos was no longer making relevant records (specifically, those last two. . .) David Hidalgo pulls out his 8-track cassette recorder and gets to work on his kitchen table. The press is calling The Town and the City the return of Kiko. I’m not sure about all that, but it certainly contains some of the best Hidalgo/Perez songwriting since 1992.

this record is simply fantastic. comparisons to Kiko are ridiculous, though. Hidalgo is from another world that I hope to visit some day.

Agreed. Much of it feels like a Hidalgo solo record… which is fine with me!
